Description

SB 70 creates a new public corporation that will help Alabama’s veterans access their government benefits, seek career counseling, and acquire mental-health assistance. CPAC unequivocally supports America’s veterans. At the same time, CPAC disputes the premise that adding additional bureaucracy and spending on the state level is the best way to reward their service. While the proponents of SB 70 might be well intentioned, CPAC opposes this bill. SB 70 was passed by the Alabama Senate in a 29-0 vote on February 18, 2025, and it was signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey.
