This bill clarifies liability protections and releases for parties that undertake environmental remediation under approved frameworks, reducing the risk of endless lawsuits for good-faith cleanups. It promotes practical environmental restoration through cooperation instead of litigation. CPAC supports liability reforms that incentivize private-sector remediation and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on 2025-02-25 by a vote of 56-4. The bill later became law.
