This bill requires colleges to regularly review accreditation policies, forbids accrediting agencies from forcing institutions to violate state law, and creates a cause of action if they do. It gives Kansas schools tools to resist ideological or unlawful demands from unaccountable national accreditors. CPAC supports defending state sovereignty and academic freedom from politicized accreditation bodies and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-02-19 by a vote of 38-2. The bill later became law.
