Description
This bill directs the state to seek a federal waiver so SNAP benefits cannot be used to buy candy and soft drinks. It ensures taxpayer-funded assistance pays for real food, not junk. CPAC supports common-sense limits on welfare spending to promote health and personal responsibility and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-04-10 by a vote of 29-11. The Governor vetoed this bill.
