Description

This bill raises civil penalties for violations of the Pipeline Safety Act, exposing energy operators to steeper fines and greater regulatory risk. CPAC opposes ratcheting up punitive regulations that chill energy development and raise costs for consumers and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-03-06 by a vote of 26-14. The House passed this bill on 2025-03-21 by a vote of 45-15. The bill later became law.
