Expanding Licensing Red Tape for Emergency Medical Responders
2025 - Nevada Senate
Conservatives Oppose
Description
This bill creates a new state certification and regulatory scheme for emergency medical responders, including title restrictions, data collection, and mandatory reporting on certain applicants, particularly veterans. While it extends some legal protections, it also layers on more licensing and bureaucracy that can discourage qualified professionals from serving. CPAC opposes unnecessary new licensing regimes that expand government control over workers and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-04-22 by a vote of 17-4. The bill later became law.
