Description

SB 974 increases the taxable wage base to $100,000 for contributions to the Temporary Disability Insurance program, allowing an expansion to Temporary Caregiver Insurance. CPAC believes that increasing payroll taxes on Rhode Islanders is shortsighted, and it opposes this bill. The Rhode Island House of Representatives passed SB 974 on June 20, 2025, in a 62-10 vote, and Governor Daniel McKee signed the measure into law.
