Aligning School Board Elections with Local Government Cycles

This bill lets charter counties align county school board elections, term structures, and term limits with those of the county’s legislative body. It can simplify election calendars and help voters hold both school boards and local legislators accountable on the same schedule. CPAC supports local election reforms that enhance voter clarity and accountability and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-04-22 by a vote of 27-6. The House passed this bill on 2025-04-15 by a vote of 87-5. The bill later became law.
