Expanding Regulatory Fees on Gas Distribution Pipelines

Description

This bill revises which gas distribution pipelines are subject to safety provisions and regulatory fees administered by the Railroad Commission. It risks layering additional compliance burdens that can raise energy costs for Texas families. CPAC resists regulatory expansions that drive up costs in the energy sector without clear, limited justification and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-05-23 by a vote of 28-3. The bill later became law.
