Penalizing Students who Attend Private and Religious Schools

This Sen. Mazie Hirono (CPAC Lifetime Rating 2%) amendment eliminates funding for scholarships that include private and religious schools. CPAC supports school choice that empowers parents to choose the best education for their children, whether public, private, or religious, and opposed this amendment.  The Senate defeated the amendment on July 1, 2025, by a vote of 50-50 (3 Republicans and all Democrats voted in favor).
