Protecting Fair Play and Transparency in School Sports

Description

This bill regulates participation in interscholastic athletics and explicitly applies public records and open meetings laws to interscholastic athletic associations, increasing transparency in how eligibility and competition rules are set. By putting these powerful sports bodies under the sunshine laws, it gives parents and communities more leverage to defend fairness in competition, including against woke rule changes. CPAC supports transparency and accountability in school sports governance to protect fair competition and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on 2025-11-18 by a vote of 22-11. The bill did not become law.
