Blocking ‘Zuckerbucks’ and Private Money from Running Elections

Description

This bill prohibits election officials from accepting private funds to conduct elections and makes it a misdemeanor to offer or accept such funding, with limited exceptions. It keeps partisan billionaires and outside interests from buying influence over Wyoming’s election machinery. CPAC supports election integrity and keeping private special-interest money out of election administration and supported this bill. HB 228 was passed by the Wyoming Senate in a 30-1 vote on March 3, 2025, and Governor Mark Gordon signed it into law.
