A Rep. Scott Perry (CPAC Lifetime Rating 97%) amendment to the Energy and Water Appropriations bill would eliminate funding for the Advanced Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program, which gives special government loans to “green” manufacturers of cars and other vehicles. CPAC opposes government subsidies that favor one form of energy over another and pick winners and losers in the free market. CPAC supported this amendment. The House defeated the amendment on September 3,  2025, by a vote of 140-286 (77 Republicans and all Democrats voted against).
